For the hospital needs it was established a cytopathology unit in 28/7/2002, since the establishment of the Department of Cytopathology (3/7/2003) this unit had completed  934  cytological examinations:  

• 862 test Papanikolaou
  
• 10 FNAs
• 62 exfoliative cytology examinations

Since 2003 all special units are gradually activated, today the status of performed examinations is:

Quality Control and Quality Assurance

All requirements of ISO:9001:2008 are fullifilled. The Department participates to quality controls programs: WHO LabNet for HPV and External Quality Assesment for KRAS (click here for qualifications).
